Aristoteles Quinto, an African American cowboy from The Patía Valley in Colombia told me about his origins and how he came to work in the Versailles estate, where, mounted on his horse The King, herds cattle. For several days, I accompanied Aristoteles to work, I was able to meet other cowboys and see the relationship they have with their environment, their horses and their livestock. Their ancestors founded the town of Patia when they fled from slavery. The cowboys, in a slow and happy tone, asked me "why have you come to see us, the black men" and with this simple phrase I heard the strength of their community.
